Istanbul, is an indispensable destination for me with its beaches and delicious Greek cuisine.I miss not being able to go to this island, which we go every summer, for two years due to the pandemic.I would like to share with you my favorite places in Thassos, which I think is still an attractive route in terms of price/benefit despite the Euro rate. After exiting the Ipsala border gate, you can reach Thassos by ferry from Keramoti Port by following the routes of Alexandroupoli (Alexandroupoli), Komotini (Comotini) and Xanthi (Xanthi).Limenas region, which is the destination point of the ferry, is also the center of the island.Since this is the closest region to the places I mentioned in the list, I recommend you to stay in Limenas. On your way back, you can stop by Kavala, which is only half an hour away from Keramoti Port.In terms of facilities, they do not have any drawbacks from the beaches in Turkey, and they do not demand an entrance fee and minimum spending limit. In addition to making you feel like you are in the Caribbean with its ambiance, the music selection is also very successful.I can also say that it has a strong cuisine and a good service quality.I think you will be satisfied in terms of sea and sand.Makryammos is actually a hotel with its own beach, but even if you do not stay here, you can benefit from the sea and sunbeds for a certain fee.It is useful to call the hotel and ask about the current price, but I do not remember that it was a high amount. With its fine sand and clear shallow sea, the most beautiful beach on the island can be here. You feel isolated and peaceful while swimming in this bay surrounded by forests.I can say that the food and beverage prices are also on the Thassos average.Marble Beach might be one of the most popular beaches in Thassos.Since marble is mined from this region, the color of the sand is close to white, so it is likened to the Maldives.I think the marble sand was poured here later, but it still has an impressive appearance. There are two resorts here called Saliara and Porto Vathy.Saliara is more visually beautiful, but Porto Vathy is more secluded.I suggest you look at both before making a decision.Although there is no entrance fee to the beaches, there is a minimum spending limit. But I think it's okay since there's a limit to a glass of frappe and lunch. As the name suggests, Karnagio Beach Bar is a place where you can swim during the day, but I definitely recommend you to go in the evening to soak the sun in the sea.You will thank me for the visual feast created by the sea and the sun while sipping your cocktail against the sunset on the puff seats.🙂 Prices are a little above Thassos average, but I think it's worth the ambiance.Aliki Beach is located in a virgin bay that has not yet been discovered by tourists. The clarity of the sea and the nature of the sheep are magnificent! The only disadvantage of this place is that the facility is inadequate, because there is no shower facility and the service quality is not very good. But if you want to spend a peaceful day away from the crowd, I suggest you come here first. The last time we went, they had taken a small sunbed fee.Apart from that, I can say that the food and beverage prices are on the island average. If you want to drink a creative cocktail, A for Art Design Hotel is the place! You don't need to be a hotel customer to sit in the garden of this hotel, which is full of colorful design sculptures and objects. Moreover, if you coincide with the happy hour in the evening, cocktail prices are quite affordable compared to Turkey. If you go for dinner, you can come across live music. You will probably leave satisfied with any Greek restaurant you catch your eye on in the center, but Ambrosia Restaurant is my favourite. This restaurant is located in a very sweet narrow street with cobblestones.Appetizers and main dishes are very tasty. Not without the ouzo, of course.🙂My thoughts above are valid for this place as well, but I think the outstanding flavor of Mesogeios Restaurant is zucchini chips. It is thin and crunchy just like potato chips. In addition, the location of the place by the sea stands out as another advantage.Cover Photo: makryammos-hotel.grYou may be interested in: Makri by Naz Kavas, AlexandroupolisSubscribe to the e-newsletter and we will inform you.By subscribing to the
