The master bathroom is the inner sanctum of the home. A place where few, other than the homeowners (and their children) ever venture.

But because it’s such a private spot, it’s also a canvas onto which homeowners (with help, perhaps from a talented architect), can display their own personalities, no matter how idiosyncratic.

But there are also challenges to designing a well functioning master bath. In most, natural light is at a premium, materials must be able to stand up to heat and humidity, and, if technology is to be allowed in, how much is too much?
