About five years ago, Mindy Kaling picked up a pricey but fairly run-of-the-mill apartment in Manhattan’s trendy Soho neighborhood. The successful actress, writer and producer subsequently embarked on an extensive remodel of the premises in conjunction with One Kings Lane designer Sally Gotfredson. Now the stylish digs have popped up for sale with an under-$2.8 million ask, or a whopping $350,000 less than the $3.1 million Kaling paid for the place back in spring 2017.

Tucked away on the sixth floor of the Richard Gluckman-designed One Kenmare Square building, at the intersection of NYC’s Soho and Nolita districts — and described as the epitome of elevated “loft living” in the listing — the unit features two bedrooms and a matching number of baths in almost 1,200 square feet of open-concept space. Neutral light-filled interiors are adorned throughout with hardwood floors and high ceilings.

Highlights include a living room boasting large windows offering up unobstructed views of the Williamsburg Bridge, Kenmare Street and Petrosino Square. There’s also a small gourmet kitchen sporting Carrara marble countertops and an eat-in peninsula, together with high-end Sub-zero, Viking and Miele appliances, and a modest-size breakfast nook topped by a whimsical wine glass chandelier.

A small primary suite is outfitted with decorative sconces and a built-in entertainment console, along with a luxe bath clad in Blue de Savoie tile, and equipped with dual vanities, a deep Kohler soaking tub and separate shower. Elsewhere is an ensuite guest bedroom and washer/dryer; and the unit also comes with access to services and amenities like a 24-hour doorman and fully-equipped fitness center.

Kaling, 43, is perhaps best-known for her creating groundbreaking content, including the hit Netflix comedy “Never Have I Ever,” HBO’s “Sex Life of College Girls” and “The Mindy Project,” plus serving as a producer on the Broadway musical “A Strange Loop.”

In addition to her for-sale New York City pad, Kaling also maintains a pair of sumptuous Los Angeles-area homes, including a $9.6 million Malibu beach house that was formerly owned by Frank and Barbara Sinatra, as well as a stately 1920s Italianate villa in the posh Hancock Park neighborhood.

The listing is held by Carl Gambino and Reilly Adler of Gambino Group Compass.
