ADRIAN — The Adrian volleyball team hosted Ypsilanti Lincoln Thursday in a Southeastern Conference White Division opener where the Maples battled for a five-set victory.
Adrian (13-5-2) went down 2-1 in three closely contested sets before the Maples turned the tides in Set 4 with a tight win of their own before finishing the series off, 22-25, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 15-9.
The trio of Lauren Fraser, Morgin White and Liv McKenzie had stellar matches to propel Adrian to the win.

Kerry Davis, Adrian: We played with grit tonight. We didn’t have a great start. We were down 1-0, then 2-1 and fought back. Lincoln was a scrappy team and played good defense. Our communication and defense improved to help us in the win tonight.

BRITTON — The Patriots took the first two sets, but the Aggies made a furious comeback to take the next three to win in the Tri-County Conference matchup in five.
It was a tightly contested match throughout with BD taking the momentum early, but Sand Creek would be the ones finishing for the 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, 15-11 victory.

ERIE — The Trojans improved to 3-0 in TCC play as it battled back from a slow start to top the Eagles in four.
Erie Mason won a close first set, but it was all Madison (12-5 overall) from there as it won 23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-16.

Heather Lanning, Madison: These girls came with their game faces on, our energy was up, our communication was on point and we came together as a team and out played them tonight. After losing Set 1, these girls came back like nothing even happened to win Set 2 25-11, that is what a good team does and I am so proud of how we worked together as a team and play well rounded volleyball.

OTTAWA LAKE — The Bulldogs battled in Set 2, but lost a tight one to give the Bobcats control of the TCC match.
Morenci got off to a slow start and dropped the first match, but looked to be closing in a on win in Set 2 before Whiteford rallied to take the set and the match in Set 3, 25-11, 25-23, 25-16.

BLISSFIELD — Tecumseh had five different athletes score goals as it beat the Royals in non-conference play.
Tecumseh went up 3-0 in the first half and doubled the score in the first two minutes of the second half to go up 6-0 before closing out the match before regulation by the 8-goal mercy rule.

ONSTED — The Wildcats hosted the Orioles in a non-conference matchup where Onsted cruised to the win.
The Wildcats led 2-0 at the half and scored four more in the second half, led by Jaxson Vincent's hat trick.

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh hosted Saline and Dexter in a SEC tri at Tecumseh Golf Club where the host finished third.
Saline won with a score of 186, followed closely by the Dreadnaughts at 188 while Tecumseh shot 217.
