It’s uncertain where, or if, future basketball Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony will suit up next year.

Regardless of where the current free agent lands, we know where he won’t be living. He’s put his Chelsea High Line residence on the market for $12.5 million.

It isn’t the first time the perennial NBA All-Star has attempted to sell his spectacular Manhattan pied-à-terre.

The unit was available for $12.85 million in 2020, but no offers materialized. It was taken off the market and given a major redesign.

“The home now benefits from a complete refresh. It has a clearly defined flow and enhancements ranging from an updated color palette in the kitchen and select spaces, polished stone throughout, designer lighting, and white oak floors. There’s also a custom slat wood wall in the primary bedroom, giving it a spalike retreat feel,” notes listing agent Aaron Seawood, of Triplemint.

Accessed by two private elevators, one for each wing, the five-bedroom, 4,556-square-foot residence offers north, east, and south views.

Light streams in from approximately 75 feet of casement windows overlooking the famous High Line.

“It’s a sanctuary that maximizes privacy and entertaining equally,” says Seawood. It’s ideal for a celebrity who wants a getaway—as well as easy access to all the city has to offer.

It’s filled with luxury amenities, and the recently updated media room is perhaps the most impressive attribute.

“Outside of the serenity I feel in the great room, my favorite is the moody media room that has been tailored for the ultimate retreat to escape the bustle of the world,” says Seawood.

The room is equipped with wine storage, a cigar humidor, and a bar. But if those features don’t interest a buyer, the space can be transformed into another bedroom or a luxe work-from-home space.

An adjacent kitchen is also impressive. It boasts Calacatta gold marble and high-end appliances. They include a vented six-burner range, two ovens, a warming drawer, two dishwashers, and a wine cooler. There’s also seating for at least five people at the massive marble-covered island.

As far as private spaces go, the primary suite is simply sumptuous. It’s highlighted by a spa bathroom with heated flooring, a steam shower, and a soaking tub. There are also two closets, including a massive walk-in dressing room. Plus, there’s a pocket door that opens to a secondary bedroom, which could serve as a sitting room or nursery.

Anthony, 38, has starred in the NBA for 19 seasons and has received 10 All-Star nods. Still a potent scorer off the bench, he’s looking for a new team to potentially spend his 20th season in the league.
